Hi,

The computer no doubt has the XP operating system installed on it. This means there are 1000's of different webcams available that are compatible with your desktop computer.
It's really completely up to you which one you choose and of course how much you're willing to spend.

I recommend AGK webcams myself.

Regards.

How to use digilife DDV 7000 cmcorder as a webcam? can't use the flash of digilife DDV 7000 cmcorder

You have to install a driver to use this camera as a webcam. There is a Windows one posted at:

this site

It is actually for a different model, but works. Once you have installed it, your camera will show up as a source when you use a program that captures webcam pics or video. You will need to connect the camera to your computer with a suitable USB lead.

To turn the flash on and off in still picture mode, you press the right pointing arrow on the round selector switch array. There are two settings, off and auto, so you cannot force it to flash- it will only do it when the camera decides the light is low. The flash does not work when filming video.

Flip the camera over and look for a sticker on the bottom it should give a serial number and a model. If you cannot find the model number sometimes you can go to the manufacturers site and they will show a picture of each webcam, is it a Phillips, Logitech, Creative, Micro Innovations (walmart stores) brand? Those tend to be the most common at least in my area.

Once you are at the manufactures site and you find the one that matches your camera, download and install the software for it.

Here are a few links to the support and download pages of these companies. I hope this is helpful.
Phillips WebCams
Logitech Webcams
Creative Webcams
Micro Innovations Webcams
