If you have confirmed that the flourescent backing ligh turns on but the screen is black, the could be a problem with the main video board. Either it is not getting power of the video board is bad. When the TV is on make sure all voltages are present in the power supply low voltage section.

Hi. i believe this to be either of these three problems.
1. Power: it could be that there is a problem with the power electronic element(s). the solution is to go see an engineer.
2. Screen: if the television uses LCD display, it could be a problem with the liquid in it. Solution is to see an engineer.
3. Sleep mode: the TV could be in sleep mode which makes the screen go blank until removed from sleep mode. Solution is to read the TV's users manual to see how to wake a sleeping TV. Get back.

Popping noise on my tv

It could be the start of a high voltage leak. A bad anode cap on the red wire going to the picture tub. try putting a little silicone sealer around it and hope the transformer is not the one leaking.

No picture no sound only the power light turn on and off

Hmm, sounds like a fuse has blown, and this is a problem that I recommend only those comfortable around high voltages try to fix......
