I just inherited a Rover 75, 2000 model. I have the code for the radio, but I can't figure out how to enter it - the only buttons with numbers on them are the cd changer ones, 1-6.

You will need to enter the theft deterrent unique security code for your VIN and radio serial number given to you at he time of purchase of the new vehicle.

Use the station buttons.

you should have a card from the dealership which contains a radio code usually 4 to 5 digits turn car on turn on radio should say CODE enter ther digits with the preset buttons if entered correctly radio should restore to normal working function if you dont have the card you will need to call the dealership and give them you VIN and they can give you the code

The folding pouch that came with the truck would have a card inside a plastic holder with the number on it. I do not know about pushing a button so many times and then on to the next number. All I do is enter the five digit code and bingo. I work on mine a lot and have to reset it every time I disconnect the battery. I think its fairly standard across all Land Rovers. First of all you need a code. This was supplied on a credit card sized piece of card with the original vehicle. I'l assume its not to hand... Typically, you can source the code (which is specific to your serial number / radio) from a supplier such as this on eBay

Press preset button <1>. This should identify character 1 of the code.

Use one of the two tuning buttons (Seek up , or seek down - the ones with arrows going into lines) to move to the right number (0-9).

Press preset button <1> again to lock digit 1 and move onto code digit 2.

Repeat twiddling the upseek and downseek. Press button 1 etc .... until all four codes have been entered.

When you press <1> for the final time, if the code is correct, you'll get a two tone beep to confirm and the radio is unlocked.

If incorrect, you are progressively locked out (in doubling time periods).

If you have the correct code and have tried entering it unsuccessfully 3 times, the radio will lock itself. Power must be on to the radio for an accumulated time of 1 hour, meaning while you are driving around, etc it will reset. Try entering it again very slowly and if it beeps before you get the entire code in, start over vs continuing on.

There are 2 ways to get your code for the radio. One is to provide the dealer with your VIN# and the surest way to get the correct code for the radio in your truck, is to remove the radio and give the dealer the serial # from the radio. If a used radio has been installed in your truck, the VIN will not give you the correct code.
