Hey sorry i do not have an answer for this but did you get this fixed. i had the alpine cde124xm since june 2011 and had xm activated for a year with no issues. however this sunday it started to happen i shut the car off it looses the signal and needs to be refreshed. Sorry to post this here but i couldn't find a way to contact your directly. Just wondering if you found a fix

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out. There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out. Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage. thank u rate me!!!
These engines have a sensor known as the Crankshaft position sensor, they are most of the time the part that causes these problems, it is located on the front of the engine, it gets it's signal from the crank pulley/harmonic balancer, if it goes open when hot the engine dies, when the sensor cools back down the eng will restart.
