When you go up a grade do you smell the belt burning (rubber burning smell) when it starts going backwards on you. It could be that the drive belt is not tight enough.

My Craftsman riding lawn mower LT2000 (2002/2003) stopped moving. The drive belt seems to be loose. The engine starts and cutting blade engages fine. Was working fine but stopped working when it started...

there should be a drive belt tensioner somewhere on the belt, it usually works off the clutch/brake, when you push on the brake it apply's the brake and also takes the tension off the belt to stop it from moving.
Not sure of your ride on mower but that is how my ride on mower works so I hope this helps.

Started craftsman lawn tractor 24 hp kohler engine drove it a few feet engaged blade clutch and mower stopped. disengaged blade clutch tried to restart . engine turns over starts runs few a few seconds and...

You should be able to push it forwards as well as backwards. I had a similar problem (engine stalling) with mine. I found out if I half choke it, it will stay running. Transmission may still have a problem.

Ford f-250 super duty, overdrive will bump on a slight grade at 50 -65 miles per hour.Truck drives great and no other problems with the transmission.I have started turning off the overdrive on slight hills...

what do you mean by "bump?"
if it is vibrating it could be one or more things and if it is down shifting hard to lower gear it could mean other things.

Craftsman 20HP , can't stop freewheeling,

Sounds like your problem is the key in your rear wheel is missing or sheared, you have to remove the wheel @ tire assembly ,pull rubber cap off then clip to remove if one of the keys is sheared or gone it will go into gear and the brake will work ,but they will only stop the shaft without the key it will not move or brake becuase its not attached if you know what I mean.
