You have to flip the gator on its side then you will see four red knobs underneath loosen those and then move the seat to the desired position then tighten the knobs

The peg perego battery for the gator is located under the front behind the black gril.

There are 4 red assemblies under the vehicle that are attached to the seat.

I was wondering the same thing, can't find any rubber replacements and came up with a solution- use a rubberized undercoating for automobiles. It sprays on thick and provides more grip than the plastic wheels do.
