Don't know how to get the various attachments on and off the tool

I have a Sears Rotary (dremel-type) tool but I can't figure out how to get the attachments on and off. It has a small drill piece in there right now, but - there's no chuck, there's nothing that twists - what is the secret? All the other attachments just have stems that would seem to insert into something - but what? I am expecting it to work like a cordless drill/screwdriver does - but what am I missing? Thank you !

It is a chuck...of sorts. There should be a button to lock the shaft and then you can use the wrench it came with to loosen it.

find the little square attachment and place on the end of the dremel tool. I didid the same thing. Worked fine after I put the other part on.

I took apart my Dremel 395 Type 3 and the spring popped out for the shaft lock. Where does the spring attach to?

It doesn't attach anywhere, that's why it popped out. It should just fit in a recess, pushing the lock button outward.

How do I attach tools to my Dremel?

hello. You loosen the arbor at the base of the shaft closest to the tool. There is a tiny wrench in the kit that came with the dremel, or you can use a pair of pliers to loosen it. Joe

I need to replace the bent shaft that the chuck screws onto

I would go direct to Dremel.com or call them at 1-800-437-3635 and get the schematic and parts you need, I just checked and they have a parts diagram online that you can view. go to the section about manuals/literature and type in your model number. Good luck

I bought Chicago 80 p rotary set without instruction

Dude!!!!!! This is NOT a Chicago tool nor is it pneumatic! Chicago tools are air powered. This is a rotary tool. Looks like a very nice one at that. The world leader in rotary tools is Dremel. Although the tool you have is not a Dremel. I am going to direct you to their website as they have a great introduction to rotary tools, they explain how-to and give details on all of the attachments and what they are for. They are also explicit on safety and give detailed safety instruction. I personally have four different Dremel tools and hundreds of attachments, if you need any advice on any of things please feel free to contact me again. This will Fixya!

Rotary tools types

Rotary tools can be divided into two types— Cut Out Tools and Basic Rotary Tools. The biggest difference between the two is the size of their motors. Cut out tools usually have larger motors.
