Looks like some kind of corrupted firmware. Updating the firmware should solve the issue. Be careful and read the instructions carefully before upgrading.

I had prevously contacted moultrie and they finally replied. Thanks for the offer.PS decided not to buy the camara, to much of a gamble i could have got all the parts and camara and the dang thing may not have worked so for just a few dollars more i will buy a brand new one.

all you have to do is buy a new battery that is what i do and it works all the time

This is new. I see that according to the illustration, there is no Optical Viewfinder- thus you need the the screen to compose the images - Is this correct? As this camera is new to you carefully read up the instruction manual - especially the set up routine. If after a day or so you are still in trouble - take it back to the store for replacement. Do not interfere with the camera.
