What are tyre pressures for a Y reg ford tarnsit motor caravan 2500cc turbo deisel

I can calculate it with spreadsheet I made, call myself tyre-pressure specialist nowadays.
Depends on tyres maximum load and Pressure needed for that ( AT pressure 6pr 55psi/3.8 bar, 8pr 65psi/4.5bar or 69/70psi/4.75/4.8bar). and maximum speed of tyre given as letter mostly N to R for caravans.

Then from Caravan MPVW ( max permissable Vehicle Weight).
Or better real weight ( overloading is more rule then exeption and unequall load is possible.

But normal car tyres or XL/reinforced/Extraload are sometimes OK if they have enaugh maximum load for MPVW.

Depends also on the kind of tyre.
For the maximum load of tyre nex kinds need next pressure , wich is called AT-pressure/maxloadpressure/reference-pressure , for up to maximum speed of tyre or if lower 160km/99m/h. This is not the maximum pressure of tyre.

Normal car tyre /standardload AT 2.5bar/36psi ( exeptions as low as 2.2)
XL/Reinforced/Extraload AT 2.9bar/42psi ( exeptions 2.8 and 3.0)
6PR( plyrating) /C-load AT 3.8bar/55psi EUR ( USA 50psi/3.4bar)
8PR/D-load AT 4.5/4.8 bar/ 65/69/70 psi
From E -load is not often used in Europe.

From this AT pressure you can calculate the needed pressure for lower loads . Made spreadsheet for it in wich I first add 10% to the assumed load before calculating.

I would suggest you look at your tryes and see what the manufacturer specifications are for the weight you are going to load on the tyres, it depends on what tyres you have on your caravan, they all differ.

In the US, all vehicles have a sticker attached to the driver door post (some on the driver door) of inflation levels. Sorry I don't know the exact pressure, but hopefully you will find that info there.

Yea I worked for Ford and have seen this before. Your pump is cavatating. It has air somewhere in the system. Ford pumps are known for being noisy. To get the air out correctly you have to jack the front tires off the ground and while the engine is on turn the steering back and fourth with the cap of the pump. You need to get a small bottle of Fords Friction Modifier and put it in this pump after you get the air out. If your truck has Hydraboost steering then the hydraboost could have a bad seal init allowing the pressure to go backwards through the system. The Hydraboost system is easy to distinguish because it has hoses that go up and attach to the brake booster system. Some trucks came with these and some did not. Hope this helped.

are the tyre pressures too high - often tyres are inflated beyond maximum to save fuel at the expense of comfort...

A Cummings? Are you sure it is not a Powerstroke? If it is a powerstroke the check the little hose on the passenger side of the intake to make sure it is connected to the nipple on the manifold. Also check on the connector on the turbo that has two wires going to the vgt solinoid. Make sure it is plugged in.

what doesnt work ? the turbo ,
they arnt the most powerful engine in the world but reliability is outstanding subject to oil , filters and cambelt changes, at the correct intervals,
the engine should give good mid range touque with a little smoke , if it doesnt the chances are the wastgate on the turbo is leaking especialy with the milage , but to be fair on a car that age i would probably put up with the lack of power than spend money repairing it providing its running ok
