Hello i got an vivicam 8018 for my birhtday and its been working ok but these few days it switches on this little red light on the side of the screen when i hit the flash button help. thanks victoria

Make sure you're not in the macro mode. There's a slide switch on the end of the camera, near the USB socket. Set this switch to the mountain position. Also bear in mind that the flash is for still photos only, not for videos.

If it did play sound, then there was something seriously wrong with the camera. The ViviCam 8018 does not record any sound in video mode. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.
