DV2150 remote quit. changed batteries, tried 2 new universal remotes.nothing

Did you try new batteries in remote??

clean the contacst batteries very well from oxide, dirty, with c. cleaners
2) retight the spring contacts batteries with long pliers for better contacts .
3) Do not mix other mark in the batteries, see if there are full charges, and with the same polarity very important. and try again.
If the problem persist, you must go to some repair shop Tv for fix it. see the diagram attached.

If you try a universal remote, such as from cable company or satellite provider and it still does not work with remote, you need an IR receiver module #DUNTKE264FM02 for your tv. this can be found at encompassparts.com and retails for about $22.00

You likely don't need a new remote. Certainly not a Universal.

Samsung remotes for LED / LCD TVs are generally RF, not IR.
Most Universal remotes do not generate RF signals, so disregard advice about codes for Universals.

Try this:

First, fresh batteries, and clean battery contacts if needed.

Then, Try Pairing procedure:

1. TV off
2. Bring remote within 3 feet of TV
3. Push Pairing button (Paper Clip or other pointed object in button hole)
4. Turn on TV
5. Should be paired. Try remote channel or other buttons.
6. If not, try 2 more times.
7. If still not working, push RESET button first and repeat Pairing.

. . . which is not a definitive answer, I confess, as which of these four exactly I am unable to test in spite of your inclusion of the valuable information (ie: Model number.) and these are listed as 3-number codes, if 4 digits are required simply add a leading zero (eg: 0+230 . . . etc.) Thank you for being so thorough and precise; sorry I wasn't able to return the favor. I press the tv button on rca remote and it wont stay on, tryed holding tv button and entering code but power button flashes twice and turns off. Entered last number and nothing happed, cant find any other help.

To get a new remote control you just go to the store you bought your dvd/vcr. They probably have some in stock, if not ask for a universal remote control.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! mattymcmatt has the solution!!! I have had trouble with my Visio 26" remote ever since I got it several years back. Had to mess with the batteries, BUT Finally it quit entirely several months ago. I have tried everything... batteries, unplug TV, press each button on remote, etc... just bought a new remote, and tried all the above 'fixes' AGAIN nothing has worked. read mattymcmatt's fix of unplugging tv held down the on button on the tv for little over a minute, plugged tv back in and and VIOLA my remote is now WORKING!!! thankyou matty!!!!

First thing, turn off the TV and unplug it for about 2-3 minutes. Remove also the batteries on your remote. Re-install the batteries on the remote and plug in your TV. Power on your TV using the remote. No luck?
