1. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this can fix many general iPod problems. 2. You may try this iTunes alternative, I always use it to upload music and video to my iPod once my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, my friends recommend it to me, it's safe and works pretty well, you can also use it to copy music and video from ipod to computer for backup, it's useful when you lost your iTunes library. http://www.ipod-transfer-copy.com/ipod-iphone-to-computer-transfer-cucusoft.html 3. Upgrade or re-install iTunes for a try, this is the method that I got from Apple technical support. Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question.

Apple media products such as the iPod Touch require the use of iTunes for managing media. Unfortunately, you cannot plug the iPod into the computer and simply copy media to or from it. You will have to install iTunes and import your media, then sync the iPod.

You can download iTunes here.

Once you have installed iTunes, open the program and connect your iPod. You will see it listed in the left pane. You will find support for iTunes and iPod on Apple's website. They have some very well-written support articles and videos that explain most of what you need to know to get started.

I downloaded some pictures twice and I cannot find how/where to delete them. iPod 8GB, model #1236

You can not do it directly in the iPod. You have to use iTunes for deleting them.

Imported photos can be deleted from the iPod disk while it is attached to a Computer.

Connect the iPod to a Computer.

When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes Source list, select it.

If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab.

Click "Enable disk use".

All imported photos are located in the "DCIM" folder on the iPod disk.

Delete the images which you want.

Turn the i pod on and theres a picture of i tuness on it and the charge cable and its locked ive turned the power off and on and keeps repeating the same problem

That icon is telling you that you need to sync the ipod with your computer.  Download itunes on your computer.  Open up itunes.  Now take the USB cord and plug it in your USB port on your computer.  Take the other end and plug it into the ipod.  A screen on your computer should show up to prompt you to set up the ipod touch.  Just follow the screen instructions.

How do i unlock my ipod touch (8 gb) when it shows the itunes icon and usb cord?

Connect the ipod touch to your computer when it shows up on the screen, make sure you have itunes open, itunes will automatically restore your ipod to its factory default by erasing all the content from the ipod before you can gain access to it again.
at this time your ipod is in recovery mode.
Note: all contents on the ipod will be erased. wait till itunes download data from apple and reset your ipod and after that you can configure your ipod again.
