For the freezing it may be hardware related or software.
To start the diagnosis
First check if the processor fan if it is working well.In most of the cases it start working then after a while it starts slowing down ( I mean the processor fan speed reduces slowly.
Second is try to run safe-mode by pressing F8 at start-up.If safe mode runs correctly it means either virus or spys
You will get a start-up menu to choose this option when you press F8 before the windows start.
well One thing you can do, if you are a bit on the techie side
try to locate the processor and see if there is enough silicon thermal paste.
this will enhance the contact from the heatsink with the processor for a better cooling.

Ok try

ASUS T100 stuck at preparing automatic repair message will.not reboot

Hello there, i just owned a brand new Asus T100 for 2 days and today on the 3rd day after purchasing, i faced problems during boot/start up where the laptop gets frozen on the Asus logo screen.
I tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds and turned it on again. It ran a series of windows software updates before the start up, then after all software updates have been completed, the laptop resumed to freeze at the Asus logo screen again. I tried holding the power button for 10 secs followed by holding the power button and volume up button at the same time, to get into automatic repair/repair mode. THIS HELPS, get into the repair mode!

To cut it short, i tried the other advanced options as well as the restart button in the repair mode but to no avail. After carefully reading the different options in the 'advanced options' in repair mode...
Here's what worked for me:
1) If you're stuck at the Asus logo screen which doesn't seem to boot for ages or at least 10 minutes, hold down the power button for 10 seconds and let the screen turn black. (I did this with my charger plugged in, not too sure if it matters)
2) Count to 10 seconds. Switch the laptop on by HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON + VOLUME UP BUTTON at the same time. This will send the laptop into an 'automatic repair', followed by a 'diagnosing this PC' and after which you will see a blue screen which is the repair mode.
3) On the blue screen you will see 2 buttons, 'Restart' and 'Advanced Options'. Click on 'Advanced Options'. (DO NOT CLICK RESTART, it does nothing as you will get stuck again at the logo screen)
4) After clicking 'Advanced Options', click 'Advanced ....' (i forgot what exactly) and click 'STARTUP REPAIR'. This is the crucial part. Then follow whatever the system promts you.
5) Afterwards, it will attempt to repair your system then lead you back to the logo screen for startup.
6) Wait a few minutes and you should be able to get to your login screen as usual.

Hope this helps. I chanced upon it by guessing which would actually help me.

Hotmail keeps freezing

It's the computer not necessarily Hotmail.

Slow Windows Machine!

Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE). High CPU levels causes hang ups like freezing.

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Consider increasing RAM.

Hi, I need help, my pc freezes and I cant move the mouse or do anything else, I have to restart it. Please Help me.

Start/Run... Run msconfig. On General tab, select Diagnostic Startup. Reboot. Use the computer in this state for as long as the freeze usually appears.
If no freeze, return to msconfig General tab. Selective startup, uncheck Startup.
Repeat reboot and trial usage. If no freeze, check normal startup. On startup tab uncheck everything that looks non-essential. Reboot and retest. When the computer seems "fixed" recheck one startup item at a time. Repeat your timed test until the issue reappears. When it does, the latest startup item you enabled is the cause.

My computer freezes randomly

Hi Petter,

Does the system freeze when you start the computer.
It could be a program that is causing the system to freeze.

1. You Could disable a few startup items like messanger by going to
Start->run->msconfig and click on startup items and disable all and check if the system's performance is better.

Please refer the following MS article if you need clarification
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

2. If this does not solve your issue, uninstall unused programs in your add/remove programs.

3. Perform a disk cleanup following the steps in the below article.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310312

This should help you fix the issue, if you still have problems feel free to post.

Upon startup it spontaneously shuts down

Start it in safe mode with command prompt - Login - type Explorer in cmd window and press enter - the explorer will start - run msconfig - remove any tick from startup if you think it is not the software - or remove all ticks from startup. now in services tab, tick in "hide all microsoft services" and remove any or all suspicious items. If it works, enable the startup iyems -one after the other.

My computer is continually freezing everytime i restart it. how can i fix it. sometimes it will simply refuse to go through the startup and freeze after the original asus symbol is shown.

Freezing can be bad memory among other problems. Try removing a stick and see if you can boot. If not, swap sticks and try again.

Memory is not that expensive so buy more and try above.

My Asus m51 keeps freezing. when using internet or office media player ect can you help?

System freeze may be due to overheating or Apllication failure or virus or worm infection.

Open the notebook and get it clean with an Air Blower.

Scan your PC with a good Antivirus like kaspersky Internet security 2010,A-Squared Anti-Malware with their lastest definiton updates install.

Type "msconfig" in the "Run" prompt.
Click "startup" tab
Untick all the programs that run during system startup except Antivirus program.

Clean your PC with any system Cleaner software.

This will most probably solve the problem.

Use Mozilla Firefox or Opera for web browsing, they are more secure than Internet explorer.

Use VLC Player for all media play as it takes little system resource while running.
