Try to re-install the screen assembly (touch 4). If that don't work the screen may have been damaged when installing it. Our shop does these all the time. See link to buy the install service.
If this is another iPod touch gen (older). Make sure the LCD connector didn't pop off.
i sorry to tell you this but it may be more expensive to replace the screen than buy a whole new iPod if the crack isn't too bad just try to forget about it if it is still under warranty you can get it replaced for free
It is possible, but the replacement glass is around $70. If you want to still buy it, theres a tutorial here on how to replace it.

Go on e-bay and buy a screen repair kit for cheap. Then go on you tube to get easy repair instructions. Â Apple won't replace cracked screens for free cause they know you broke it.
