How do I charge my Garmin 250W? The only instructions I got are in Spanish.

you update the nuvi by plugging it into the computer and installing mapsource on your pc, then when you open mapsource on the pc with the device connected , if updates are available it will download and install them for you, please note you may have to pay for the updates

Remove all the others

try connecting it to your computer via the usb cable. that may reset it. outdated maps will not cause this problem.

It is possible that the unit says its charged and everything appears fine however if the battery dielectric has perished as soon as its under load it will turn off you need to replace the rechargable battery. This needs to be done by a Garmin Dealer.

The only place u can get the maps is from the garmin support site at www.mygarmin.com, they do charge for these maps

you going to have to replace it or beg garmin to accept it for repair/warranty.

Achieve global reset by pressing down on the bottom right corner of the touch screen (i used a pencil eraser) while restarting the GPS. You will default back to factory settings and can re-select your language of choice then.

I too just got mine from Santa... it's designed to operate while plugged into the lighter. It also charges the Li ion battery. If the Garmin screen comes on while you are using it I would suspect an error or what ever. (you DID move the little switch on the top left corner to unlock didn't you?) Just call their number 800 800-1020 and ask them. They were most helpful and were there well after the hours posted in the instruction book.
