Those loran numbers I see in your post are like your corandenses. Not sure if I spelled these words right. Its longitude and latitude. A suggestion for you is to start all over with your unit. In your tools section, you can delete and then start all over. If yours has a place to put those corandenses in, do so at that time. Hope this helps. Blessings.

I bought a boat had a SI-TEX XJ-9 LoranC on it but it didn't have the manual. I don't know how to operate it.

It does not matter since Loran-C has been phased out. Sorry but you should pickup a GPS. Good Luck

Converting loran numbers to GPS. Loran TD coversion won't let me put in my loran numbers. My loran numbers have more digits than it will allow me to put in.

When you enter the Loran coordinates, they should only be 6 digits with one decial point ie: 12345.6

On the chart the coordinates may be shown with a prefix such as as 9960-W14123.4. The prefix (9960-W) is not entered on the conversion screen. It has to be set up in the position format set up page in your GPS prior to doing the conversion.

For example on my Garmin 76CS, I go into the setup menu and select position format.
I scroll down through the list of formats until I find "LORAN TD" and press "enter".
In this screen I enter the master chain number, which is 9960 for my region in New England.
I also have to enter the "slave" stations which are designated as V,W,X,Y, or Z. For example, in my region, the "W" slave station always starts with the number 14 (ie:14123.4) and the "Y" slave station always starts with 44 (ie: 44123.4).
When I am in the conversion screen, I don't have to enter 9960-W because the GPS is already formatted for that.

You should also note that a LORAN TD converted to Lat/Lon will not be as accurate because there is some mathmatical error in the conversion equation.
