Hi Pete.
go to start/control panel/system for (xp) device manager for vista/win7 see if it showing up as a dual prossessor there if it is only showing 1 prossessor you are not running in hiper mode or you may have to reflash your board

How to check my gigabyte mother board under warranty?

hi.there...

i read from your information and picture about your motherboard type..i think yours is not under warranty from factory anymore (GIGABYTE)

for additional information your mainboard (MB) is using old type of intel chip set (Intel 865 series) and only support intel processor type Pentium 4 with 478 pin with 533 MHz bus processor..

talking about warranty from factory GIGABYTE only give 3 years warranty only for MB with minimum chipset intel ICH 7 and up..that's mean MB must be support processor minimum 775 pin and 1155 pin or support intel Pentium D,Dual Core,Core2Duo or Core i series...

hope this is can help to solve your problem..

Hi, in my computer properties,it shows only the processor's name amd sympron 2400.. i culdnt find the motherboard name,as its not shown in that, cud u please help me to find motherboard name,as i need...

This is Gigabyte Support > 7VM400M-RZ motherboard > Main support page,

http://tw2005.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Products/Products_Spec_7VM400M-RZ.htm

In the small chart in the middle where it states, Overview, Awards, BIOS, Comparison Sheet, CPU Support List Driver, FAQ, Manual, and News, click on > Driver.

(AMD Sempron 2400+
That fits in a Socket A processor socket. Socket A is also known as Socket 462.
Click on Manual for the motherboard manual)

I want to know that shall i put pentium 4/ 2.4 Ghz/ 533 Fsb/ Processor on this Gigabyte 845GVM-RZ board? will it support ?and i have 1 Gb ddr1 400 mhz ram will this work on this Board?

Yes for the Intel Pentium 4/2.4GHz/533FSB processor. (Socket 478)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessors#Northwood_.28130.C2.A0nm.29

(Scroll through. What sSpec number is on top of the processor's case? {You are following Anti-Static Precautions, correct? }

Won't support better than a Prescott Core Pentium 4. (Next chart down)

The Gigabyte GA-8I ((Supports 400MHz or 533MHz FSB)

NO to the Ram Memory.
The Gigabyte GA-8I845GVM-RZ supports DDR Sdram at 333Mhz. (PC2700)
IMHO it will not support DDR Sdram at 400MHz. (PC3200)

My reasoning is this;

Ram Memory typically operates at half of the FSB frequency rate of the Processor.

Processor FSB > MAXIMUM frequency rate is 533MegaHertz for the GA-8I845GVM-RZ
Ram memory at 333MHz is doable.
Not 400MHz.

No, you won't be able to overclock, and bring the FSB of the Processor high enough for PC3200 Ram Memory.
(The rest of the motherboard wouldn't work anyway if you did. PCI Express bus, PCI bus, etc., would not match)

Gigabyte mother board ga-6bx7+

You might have damaged the CPU/ motherboard during the process of overclocking.

Check your CPU on other compatible mobo.

Check your mobo documentation properly & set the jumpers rightly. If that doesn't help, you will have to replace the mobo.
