I did twice hard reset my GPS Garmin Nuvi 1390 and nothing happening and after I tried different trick, when I turned GPS off I hold the top left corner screen. The screen exchange for calibrations and I pressed several times according request and my GPS Garmin Nuvi 1390 started work, but repairing company wanna charge me $100 Canadian dollars
first of all, leave it charging for 2-3hrs. take the SD card out if you have it inside try then to turn it on if nothing happens - then press reset button on the bottom side of device (hidden behind plastic sticker, but marked) then try again to turn it on
if nothing happens - take it to authorized service center
Same thing happened to mine. Put the unit in the cradle (just like you are going to recharge it) and press the reset and mode button at the same time for 3 seconds. This will "wake" the unit up.
Have you tried firmware update for your gps . If you have not tried it try to update the latest firmware . By updating firmware your problem can be fixed .
If your problem still exists then try to charge your gps from any external charger and check whether screen is working properly .
If your problem still continues then you need to take your gps to near by shop to get it repaired .
There is an ISSUE with the DEAD ZUMO, however some of the are solved, and some need to be shipped back.
There are a couple of options.
1) remove the battery, keep power button pressed for a few minutes. install battery, try.
2) fully recharge the battery with the wall charger, try
3) With a fully charged battery, press and hold the + button and press the power button(hard reset).
4) hold thumb firmly on top left of touch screen and hold power button till it switches on(hard reset).
5) Try a different battery (fully charged)
6) Ship it to Garmin
