Works for software installs but not for burning or picture cds

Download and install windows 7 codec pack, then try again, or you can download windows movie maker, its free and works well

Hi, I have gone through the same issue in past. It all starts when you have installed a new cd/dvd burning software on your computer. All you need to do is uninstall Sonic and iTunes and re-install them so that they take all default settings that has been changed by Nero. In my case it worked like a charm.

u use Nero for burn cds. plz try it. u install nero software & strt writing

r u able burn the cds normally if yes then go to device manager and uninstal the cd or dcd drive and restart the system and if possible install nero

Do you still have the software installed? You could try downloading a free CD burning software. Simply do a google search for Free CD burning software and download your choice. That should work.

please check if your HP has Roxio Creator 9 Basic software installed

It's a "standard" CD-writable drive, but Windows 2000 did *NOT* come with any software for writing CDs.

So, buy the "Burning Suite" from 'www.ashampoo.com'.
It works under Windows 2000/XP to allow you to "burn" CDs.

Yes, you can install the cd with the Nero Software in the new Laptop, and you will be able to write CDs or DVDs, but if you have a combo only you will only be able to write/burn CDs but read DVDs no problem.
