Does yours have a float or internal switch on the bottom to turn it on ...

If the switch is in the bottom, the hole that allows water in (to create pressure to activate the switch to turn on the pump is dirty and/or clogged) Clean it.

I hope this solves your trouble

Simer a5500 motor keeps running when no water in pit

Check the float for proper operation, chances are it’s stuck in a position that’s calling for the system to be on (as if there’s water in the basket) or its failed.

Brand new Simer pump Model 2330-03 runs 10 seconds shuts off, turns back on, runs 10 seconds shuts off, etc., etc. Why is this happening?

Sounds like a faulty switch on the float. Try to hold the switch up by hand and see if it stays running, if so you may need to lube the switch. If not then it sounds like a manufacturer defect and needs to be returned.

I purchased a Simer 3986 SS Pump. Need proper mounting location for check valve. I have a manufactured weep hole in the threaded area of the check valve, Pump runs, water level trip vertical float switch...

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

The orientation for a sump pump/check valve are the pump is in the bottom of the pit, the discharge pipe leads up into a check valve, usually very close to if not threaded into the pump discharge, and then the pipe continues up and out to wherever your water discharges to. The weep hole needs to be below the check valve.

The hole is there to prevent an air lock in the pump which would prevent it from moving water.

If the water trapped in the vertical run of the discharge pipe is returning to the pit once the pump shuts off the problem is the check valve is not holding or the hole is on the wrong side of the flapper assembly. Did the check valve come with the unit? If not, you will need to fix it if you can or replace it.

What kind of is used in a simer submersible

The Simer brand of submersible dewatering pumps rely on being fully submersed in water for proper cooling and for the seals to remain water tight and effective.

According to the manufacturer, there is no oil used in the pump, other than a very small amount that was used in assembling the pump at the factory, so you shouldn't oil the pump, but rather follow the recommendations as to making sure the pump is installed properly.

Here's the owners manual for your particular pump (Model #2300) so you can check the troubleshooting FAQ's and so you can also contact the manufacturer, should you need replacement parts or need to make a warranty claim, etc.

Inside lights

Remove "Door Ajar" switch. Clean the switch and use a graphite type lubricant (I recommend "Dry-Slide") to lubricate the actuator on the switch. Reassemble the switch.

The switches are located inside the door panels, attached to the catch mechanism.

1) Remove interior door panel.

2) Using a T-27 Torx driver, remove the 3 bolts holding the catch in the door.
2a) The door ajar switch is the only part on the mechanism with the 2-wire harness.
2b) The switch is located at the rear catch for the sliding door.

3) Using a small flat screwdriver, gently lift the black tab on the catch mechanism and rotate the switch to remove it from the catch assembly.

4) Using a rag, clean the small round actuator and apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the actuator and work the switch so it moves freely.

5) Reassemble the catch and the door.
