welll thanks 4 such good help....welll.. ihave an acer extensa 4630z.. and it has win xp on it....its just been 2 months i purchased it...well...and it has 1 gb ram expandable to 4 gb....what would it cost me to upgrade it to a best power??....and i have yet another prob...since the OS was already on it ...it must a genuine windows ...rite???... but aas i auto updated my windows...it says its not genuine ....wat can i do 4 it
The issue with OS will not be resolved unless you copy your old window OS to your new computer...it sound as it was not original...let me know
Do not worry every computer sold preloaded got a license from MS and that license is your id for the software…you can find it at the bottom of your laptop it has the code you need to show that it is genuine…also look in device manager at the front page it has a number see if both numbers are the same…as it may be genuine but it loaded unauthorized update that changed the keys…
When you update try to put the correct numbers…let me know

well i have my laptop...and its acer branded....so the os was already there ..the company put it on its manufacture...so i guess it must b genuine ...but the microsoft udpate says its not genuine..wat can i do
i dont want to update rite no...coz i fear that the windows genuine advantage feature will adain indicate my os as not genuine..it has happened last time i updated and i had to restore my laptop to the previous setting b4 the update....is there a way to update my winxp to vista without gettting the gunuine check???
