Question about Oregon Scientific Gator Mulcher 3-N-1 Blade 97-602
I have a similar problem with the mower, but it doesn't shut off. It continues to run, but sounds like a V6 engine with a bad spark plug. Throttle responses continues to run high and low, but it won't shut all the way down.
Throttle cable probably needs adjustment. If not adjusted properly it wont go to the shut off position. There is a clamp that should be on side of the engine, loosen the screw on the clamp, then move the cable-try pushing it forward or backward, but not more than 1/4 inch at a time, tighten after each adjustment. Engine is shut off while adjusting, once tightened crank the mower and see if that improves it. You will just have to try each direction until you find which way it needs to go.
