Verizon will not let me use my brand new Alltel LG AX565 on my second line after an older Verizon phone died on that line. They bought out Alltel and the LG worked just fine untill I moved and had to drop Alltell. Is there a solution to use the LG on my second line? Thanks for any help on this. Sam

If Verizon bought out alltel, the simplest thing to do now is dial 611 for customer care and ask them.
Once a company buys another company, their customer care auto-redirects to the new company. So you can ask them.
I don't have alltel where I'm at (Oregon) so I can't fully answer that.

ohhh bad deal there one thing verizon has is the early upgrade which if you are one year into your contract you can pay 20.00 plus the two year sale price for any phone of your choice in return for a new two year agreement if you arent that far in yet and have more than a month remaining to get there I would suggest goign to ebay or amazon and buying one at retail price used you can generally get them much cheaper than verizons retail price and they dont require a contract or if you have any friends or family members with old phones they might sell you cheap til you can hit the ine year mark or keep calling if you are about a month away try to get the little rock center and tell them you want to talk to walter complain complain complain and they may go ahead and let you over ride early also if this line was previously an alltel phone number you can go back to your alltel plan and phone at any time on just this line if you like temporarily just a tip the number one feature to always have with cell phones before txt mins anything is insurance ost phones cost avg 400 to 800 retail

There are still Alltel call centers that you can contact.

Alltel was aquired by Verizon. Call Verizon customerservice. It may not be possible to use the phone with verizon though. Alltel was GSM and Verizon is CDMA.

if youre trying to program your alltel phone number on a verizon phone yet keep your alltel service its not going to work. the phones are locked to the carriers and cannot be unlocked. depending on where your cellphone number is based out of your serivce will most likely turn into verizon anyway. but as far as i know right now you cannot use the verizon phones.
i could be wrong, i live in an area that is going to become AT&T not verizon.

you cannot use a verizon phone on an alltel plan. you have to switch over to verizon to make that phone work. i tried getting a chocolate to work on alltel too and they would not do it.

The easiest way to do this is after you add the ESN to you account is to dial *22801 and press send. It should say welcome to Alltel and then all you have to do is press 3 to program your phone and after that is successful you need to Dial *22801 again then press 2 to update your PRL and viola you phone will now be able to talk and text on your Alltel account

The phone should not be locked. Verizon phones will work on Alltels network. Once it is on the Alltel network you just need to update the PRL. Alltel phones use Alltels network and Verizons network so it really should not matter what name is on the phone.
