My Ascaso espresso machine's steam knob sheared off. Any ideas on where to get a replacement? The stem appears sheared as well, so I will probably need to replace that as well.

If your steam wand is leaking then you may need to replace steam wand o rings. These can be found at Ascaso gasket kit Dream Arc Basic . Available in a kit with easy to follow instructions.

You may have an issue with the coffee thermostat or the gauge is not very accurate.
If you are extracting above 180F then the coffee should taste burnt and unpleasant. You should replace the thermostat, probably the steam thermostat as well.
It should be between 80°C/180°F degrees for the coffee and 100°C 212°F degrees for the steam.

Have you turned the steam valve off tightly and cracked the knob inside allowing it to turn on the brass spindle.Try pulling the knob off and turning the spindle with a pair of pliers or a small adjustable spanner.If the spindle keeps turning you may have sheared the spindle off inside.If this is the case you will need a new steam valve complete as they are not repairable.Steam valve cost about 35

You have 2 issues.
Steam wand leaking while making coffee - This indicates that the seals on the steam tap o rings need replacing.
Coffee pouring over the handle when making coffee - this indicates that the group gasket needs replacing.

Replacing the group gasket is easy takes 10 min
Replacing the o rings on the steam tap may take a little longer..

If every thing is working then you may need to just replace the light.

Hi There, If your ascaso steel duo is not producing steam,
Could be that:
The thermoblock may be blocked - Try descaling.
JURA descaling tablets
Steam wand may be blocked - try removing steam nozzle/steam wand and submerge in hot soapy water.

Defective, could be corrosion, return it.
