1990 Bonneville SE 3.8L won't start. No hint of problem, then complete failure. Fuel pressure at injectors. 12V supply to injector coils goes lower then hi when cranking. Spits when spray cold start fluid into air intake. Spark tests ok via use of screwdriver in plug wire to jump to chassis. Coil pack primary and secondary ohms ok. Ignition Control Module tests ok at parts store. Have Engine computer supplied 12V at ICM input plug. Replaced crank sensor, cam sensor. Am toying with idea of getting coil pack, ICM, and Engine computer (total about 200 bucks new, about 75 from junkyard), but wondering if there is some other possible factor

Did you check and see if you have compression,You might be out on you valve timeing?

you have to have 4 things on any engine fuel, air .compression and combustion, in the way of spark in your instance

2007 Focus SE started missing, idling very rough, and has no power when I try to move it. Any common failures to check out before testing the coils? And how do I test the coils?

I would not bother with the coils at this stage as the fault is more likely in the injectors
blocked tips , low fuel pressure or ECM problem
run the fault codes to be sure
add a can of quality injector cleaner to the tank as well

P0452 ,P0305 aurora 3.5

P0452 means fuel tank pressure sensor circuit low pressure. Possible symptoms:
- Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor
The code 0305 means cylinder 5 misfire detected. Possible symptoms:
- Faulty spark plug 5
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 5
- Faulty ignition coil 5
- Fuel injector 5 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 5 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 5 harness is open or shorted

Need to check the fuel injectors on my 1990 buick lesabre v6 3.8l

You will need a fuel injector testor, about a $100, and a fuel pressure guage, about a $100, to flow test the injectors.

You can ohm check them with an ohm meter to see if one or more has shorted windings. Remove the electrical connector and test between the two pins. They should all be about the same ohms. If one is significantly lower than it is probably bad. Its best to check them when they are hot (after the engine has warmed up).

I have a 2002 Jaguar X-type. The check engine light came on and it has been acting jumpy/shaky. I recently took it to be diagnosed and the codes I recieved back were P1314, P1316, P1111, and P0302..What do...

All fault codes can be checked out at http://www.bluejag.co.uk but here are the results for some of yours. You can ignor P1111. Looks like a faulty plug or coil pack cylinder 2

Fault Code:- P1314 Indicates a Power-train fault

The fault is generally due to a problem in the Ignition or Misfire area

Fault Description: Misfire rate catalyst damage -bank 2 NOTE: This DTC will flag only when accompanied by an individual cylinder misfire DTC: P0300 - P0306

Action of ECM:- ECM Default:- Maximum engine speed reduced

After clearing the DTC, complete the Misfire monitor drive cycle
Check for a reoccurrence of fault DTC.

Possible Fault:- Cylinder compression low Worn camshaft / broken valve spring(s) Fuel delivery pressure (low / high) Fuel injector(s) restricted / leaking Fuel injector(s) continuously open Fuel contamination Fuel injector circuit fault(s) (Injector DTCs also flagged) Spark plug failure / fouled / incorrect gap ECM to ignition coil primary circuit fault (Cylinder misfire detected DTC also flagged) Ignition coil failure
Fault Code:- P1316 Indicates a Power-train fault

The fault is generally due to a problem in the Ignition or Misfire area

Fault Description: Misfire excess emission NOTE: This DTC will flag only when accompanied by an individual cylinder misfire DTC: P0300 - P0306

Action of ECM:- none

After clearing the DTC, complete the Misfire monitor drive cycle
Check for a reoccurrence of fault DTC.

Fault Code:-
P0302 Indicates a Power-train fault

The fault is generally due to a problem in the Ignition or Misfire area

Fault Description: Misfire detected ?€" cylinder 2

Action of ECM:- none

After clearing the DTC, complete the Misfire monitor drive cycle
Check for a reoccurrence of fault DTC.

Possible Fault:- Refer to P0300 Possible Causes

I have an 89 chevy c1500, 5.7, 2wd. Had it running and trying to get it timed. During this process i noticed the injectors quit giving gas. I put gas in it and nothing changed so i have been chasing the...

the reason the injectors stopped is because the motor is not running.this is a safety precaution built into the computer so the engine won`t flood.if the fuel pump is not working then you will have to check powers and grounds at the fuel pump connector by the gas tank to see if the unit is getting fed power and ground.someone will have to try to start the car while you check this out as there is a 2 second prime circuit if the car is not turning over.also this system uses the distributor to know that the engine is turning over to start.you may have a bad pickup coil in the distributor.this system also grounds the injectors through the ecm so you should have power to the injectors when the ignition is turned on,for your information.

1986 pontiac fiero won't start, changed fuel pump and relay gas coming up, but no spray from injectors

Actually the injectors don't spray "all the time". They pulse open for a few milliseconds then close every time they are grounded by the ECM. The distributor has a pick-up coil (Variable Reluctance sensor) that provides an A/C (Alternating Current) pulse every 120 degrees of crankshaft revolution to the Ignition Control Module also contained inside the distributor. The I.C.M. amplifies, rectifies and passes along the pules as a +12V square wave to the ECM. The ECM uses these pulses to calculate RPM and determine when the engine is rotating vs. stopped. Together with this information and more from Coolant Temp., Throttle Position, Manifold Pressure and Air Temp. the computer constantly 'looks up' what the appropriate amount of time it should pulse the injectors for to deliver the required amount of fuel.
With that in mind, the injectors are supplied with +12V via a 3 AMP fuse labeled INJ 1 for 1 bank of 3 injectors, and INJ 2 for the 2nd bank of injectors. Make sure your injectors are getting +12V whenever the key is ON or they wont fire (or at least 3 won't).
If all 6 injectors have +12V and you have fuel pressure (checked by pushing down in the center of the Schrader (tire valve stem looking thing) valve and fuel SPRAYING out, and your still not getting fuel it is probably because the injectors aren't pulsing. They are probably not pulsing because the ECM is not receiving any reference pulses from the distributor. If you have spark then you are producing reference pulses.
I hope some of this explained from an actual '86 Fiero GT 2.8L V6 owner/mechanic will help narrow down your problem.

Won't start

the pressure in your fuel system may be too high causing the injectors to flood the cylinders. it could also possible be the security safety lock, not sure if that year had it. you may also need to adjust the timing or check spark plugs.

hope this helps
