SOURCE: Huntington Bay Ceiling Fan W/lights & Remote operated. # HD 361054

I had a similar issue with my fans. The fix I came up with was my remote was faulty. An easy fix because I had 2 fans with the same remote.

SOURCE: Can a remote control be installed on the Huntington III?

Yes you can operate them with two styles of remotes: either the remote wall switch, or a hand held remote. Both require the receiver to be mounted above the top of the fan in the base it is wired to. The receiver has wires on both sides; the one side wires directly to the house wires, and the other goes to the fan and light. They are both sold at Home Depot and Lowes. The ones at Home Depot also include the set made by the fan manufacturer.

SOURCE: hampton bay ceiling fan stopped lights work

you can test the light switch by temporarily hooking up the light bulb to where the fan normally goes ....the bulb will only work on the highest speed setting but can prove if the switch is bad or not . turn power off before woking in there ... if you know someone with a volt meter then they could quickly test the switch for you .. they can also test the motor for continuity .. .. most of the time the trouble is simply bad connections inside the wire nuts ... like insulation not skinned properly or wire not in the wire nut properly ..you can remove and inspect each connection (power off of course) ... sometimes there is a seperate power line for the fan and light ... so they can be independently controlled externally ... thats not needed when the pull chains are the only off on method ...

I would like to order a replacement light kit for this ceiling fan. Mine is Brushed nickel however

Hampton bay is an exclusiove brand of Home Depot. Yopu shopuld be able to get a new light kit to fit your fan there or try any lighting store or Lowes. You will need to bring the old one with you to compare the size of the mounting plate and the araingement of the mounting screws to the new kit.

Not sure if this is the exact ceiling fan/ light kit we have... but looks similar.

Turned out that it was the dimmer switch that had shorted out.

My hubby figured it out, and replaced it.
