SOURCE: I'm looking to hookup the DVR with the PC via A cross-over cable

I have 2 DX2000's, In order for you to communicate with your pc, you need a Crossover cable, if you have a laptop or computers, connect the crossover cable to that, set your ip address on your computer to 192.168.2.108, (Note: since you never configured it, this would be the default setting). If you have the manual this is in there.,

Another method, if you don't have a crossover cable is to set the ip on your computer to 192.168.2.110 Subnet, 255.255.255.0. its a little more funky, the crossover would be easier, once you get in, then go to the configuration page and setup up the IPaddess for the DX2000, the Gateway to your Router and the subnet mask, once you do this, then you're able to get to it on your network, by typing in http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8004 .

LG smart TV already WiFi. Can ethernet connect to another device as a router

It is not going to work. Both wifi and ethernet are for internet connection only. Ethernet is much faster than wifi. Also there is possibility to damage tv by plugging ethernet cable which is connected device using POE (power over ethernet). You need to connect your dvr via hdmi, component or composite cable

Ethernet and wireless not working

The wireless sounds like its not working or the drivers are not installed.

The Ethernet port may have been programmed with a static IP address or you do not have a DHCP on the network your plugging into.
open the network and sharing centre by right clicking on the network icon by the clock.

Then local area network.
Then properties.
25583850-zrzcpkof2p0j4eifxttonmc3-2-0.jpg
Then internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
The display should look like this :-

Have just bought this . Devices can pick up the network but won't join to it. Any ideas?

You need to set the gateway to the correct IP address, if is on Ethernet.

If it is on wireless, then you need to set the correct protocol and password to log on to the network.

Connecting to the modem to dvr

you didnt state the cameras were IP addressable...are they? brand of camera, and which security DVR you were using. Most DVRs wont or dont use the router as it doesnt rotate or change the picture, but I dont know which one you have. Most instead they use a multiplexer .

I can not get my dvr to conect to my home coumputer

Check your DVR network settings via the main menu function. You will require a IP Address & Passwod. Ensure your ethernet cable is connect from your DVR to your local computer.

You will then need the network viewer software putting on to your PC (normally provided with your DVR). Ensure the IP Address & your user password are entered correctly and then you should be able to connect.

Alternatively, you can utilise a web brouser.

Also have a look at the following link for a manual for the named network camera that you have indicated http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/docs/manuals/usersguidesncrz25nv1.pdf

Trust all this information is of assistance.

I have a linksys router. model number befsr41 v. 3. i have a acer computer and some reason it wont recognize the network, calling it unidentified network, and internet does not work.. what do i do

The first thing is that the router model number you have is not a wireless router.
Now if you are connecting the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable then check the port light on the router. If you connect the computer to the port number 2 then port 2 light should lit up on the router.
Now check the IP address on the computer. If you are not getting proper IP address then check the DHCP server on the router is enabled.
If that is enabled and still not getting the IP address then assign a static IP address on the computer.

Not showing the network ip address. Note i changed it from 192... to 172... and now trying to go back to the 192.168... network

Set the camera to "automatically obtain an IP-address".
Connect the camera, via an Ethernet network cable, to a router.
The router will supply a valid IP-address to the camera; much simpler than trying to "manually" set an IP-address, network-mask, and gateway IP-address.

Linksys wireless camera--viewable if ISP uses dynamic IPs?

Ok, everything by default hands out dynamic ip addresses. If the camera is plugged into the network it will automatically pick up an ip address and you would be able to see it in your router config page. Try attaching the camera to the wireless network and then log into your router and look for attached devices. Let me know if you get stuck and where you get stuck.
