Right...
Last time I got stung REALLY good...
I changed out the entire smoke detector... as I placed
the third NEW unit.. (disconnected) it beeped AGAIN.
I let my CURIOUS eyes scan down the hall wall...
There... BIG as life and twice as NATURAL was
my GAS DETECTOR... Reading "Lo B"... (battery)
Yep... You guessed it ...!!
Put my new 9V battery in my GAS detector...
and PEACE was attained in our time.
Live & learn.

SOURCE: My alarm and smoke detector keeps beeping a single
Ours keeps chirping even after we replaced the battery. I'm not sure how to fix it.
We are going to try and clean it but if it keeps doing it after that then I guess it means it needs to be replaced, right?
SOURCE: every hour my detector beeps and the green lights
If it only beeps once and then pauses, the batteries are suspect. The batteries should be replaced twice each year. I like to change them when we change the clocks back and forth.
I hope that this helps.

Hint you can test them with a match (blow it out) and let the smoke rise into the detector. I recommend that this be done at lease once a year.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: how to fix detector
You don't mention how old the detector is. If it is more than 5 years old the detector may be beeping to indicate the end of its service life. A smoke detector can last much longer but carbon monoxide detectors have a limited life span. If putting in new batteries doesn't fix the problem then most likely you will need to replace it.
SOURCE: Hello My detector (Nighthawk KN-COSM-IBCA) started
They have a timer which means that they chirp after 7 years. You need new ones. 7 years is how long they think they last.

Relocate it to an area of fresh air - outside will work.. Does it still beep?
If yes, recover the new battery and toss the unit.
Do you have it located in a steamy damp area? Laundry room, bath room etc.. That will cause it to malfunction too..
