Usi 1204 smoke detector. Replaced battery, still beeping. I'm simply trying to take apart the connectors inside the detector so I can take the detector down. Is there a trick to this.

Right...

Last time I got stung REALLY good...

I changed out the entire smoke detector... as I placed
the third NEW unit.. (disconnected) it beeped AGAIN.

I let my CURIOUS eyes scan down the hall wall...

There... BIG as life and twice as NATURAL was
my GAS DETECTOR... Reading "Lo B"... (battery)

Yep... You guessed it ...!!

Put my new 9V battery in my GAS detector...
and PEACE was attained in our time.

Live & learn.

SOURCE: My alarm and smoke detector keeps beeping a single

Ours keeps chirping even after we replaced the battery. I'm not sure how to fix it.

We are going to try and clean it but if it keeps doing it after that then I guess it means it needs to be replaced, right?

SOURCE: every hour my detector beeps and the green lights

If it only beeps once and then pauses, the batteries are suspect. The batteries should be replaced twice each year. I like to change them when we change the clocks back and forth.
I hope that this helps.

Hint you can test them with a match (blow it out) and let the smoke rise into the detector. I recommend that this be done at lease once a year.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: how to fix detector

You don't mention how old the detector is. If it is more than 5 years old the detector may be beeping to indicate the end of its service life. A smoke detector can last much longer but carbon monoxide detectors have a limited life span. If putting in new batteries doesn't fix the problem then most likely you will need to replace it.

SOURCE: Hello My detector (Nighthawk KN-COSM-IBCA) started

They have a timer which means that they chirp after 7 years. You need new ones. 7 years is how long they think they last.

SOURCE: our kidde battery operated Carbon Monoxide

Relocate it to an area of fresh air - outside will work.. Does it still beep?
If yes, recover the new battery and toss the unit.

Do you have it located in a steamy damp area? Laundry room, bath room etc.. That will cause it to malfunction too..

Why the back (can't see inside) of the wire keep beeping after taking off the smoke detector? How to stop it?

You need to replace it. It will not silence as it detects Faulty sensor. Or you can turn off the breaker that controls that circuit and remove the base from the mount and replace both of the with 2 new ones with the same date code on package. My home and life far outweigh the few dollars that the detectors cost

Smoke detector removed from ceiling. Only wires visible, but I still hear chirping.

Look at the detector you removed, and all others that may still be wired in.
They all have battery backup. Although the detectors are hardwired, the chirping is coming from one of the detectors to let you know to change the battery.

I have replaced the batteries to the smoke detectors and they keep beeping. What is the problem?

It is possible that the battery is not contacting the metal clips inside. See if the can be adjusted out. More likely the detector is not recognizing the voltage of the new battery. You can try removing the detector from the ac power install the battery and reconnecting it to the ac. It should correct the issue.

My 521NCSXT smoke sector beeps periodically. What is required to repair?

When a smoke detector beeps periodically it is telling you that it needs a new battery. They require the newest 'alkaline' 9 volt battery that you can get. If it is not alkaline you will get the beeps. once the battery is replaced do a hard reset. (pressing the button for 10 or more seconds)

Kiddie fire alarm model I12060, beeps once every

This happened to me, my smoke detector started chipping so I changed the batteries. A few seconds later it started chirping again. The answer is in the way you put the batteries in. The smoke detector allows you to put the batteries in wrong and makes a slight connector. This slight connector tricks the detector into thinking the batteries are weak. Simply turn the batteries around so the fat connector of the battery touches the skinny connector of the device. Mine was, fat side on the right.
