Simple-- you can also do this during the day on an object at least 100 yards away-- but at night; get the moon centered in the eyepiece and without moving the telescope center the red dot on the moon. This will get you almost aligned-- then put a bright star in the eyepiece and readjust the red dot to center the star.

sounds to me like it may have been dropped and the set screw in side has released.the aiming system is on a prism left right up down.a good jar or drop will break the movement system.if the screw is maxed out I'm all most certain the seal has been broken i would see if there is a gun shop in your aria and have them look at it.good luck.

that is the problem with red dot sights.if your eye sight is not 20-20,you will get a star burst or halo.glasses will help.
