The air conditioner you have may be is luck of freon .Check the air condition and place some freon.when a refrigerator or air conditioner don't have coolness it means that it does not have freon to supply coldness. To your 2001 lincon LS

Either your R134a is leaked out ore you need add and also add a dye see if leaks.
Add to the low side the car while running with gage with ac cranked on high follow metter dont over fill it loc the ac up. Easy 20 minute job wallmart sells the gage and R134s and so do auto zones

The thermostat might be gone or needs a bigger thermostat
It could be a vaccum leak for the drivers side blowing cool air and the passenger side blowing warm air
