Your dryer has a moisture sensor that determines how long the drying cycle is on. When the dryer is first started it has an initial run time based on the selected setting. When the sensor starts measuring the moisture the drying time will change to a shorter run time if the items are not too wet. It could also be that the sensor needs to be cleaned. Dryer softener sheets can coat the sensor over time and prevent the sensor from accurately reading the moisture. You can use s scrub pad such as a scotch-brite to gently clean the sensor. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/gas-dryer-with-steam-dv501ag
timed cycle mean dryer not on sensor dry mode. check wire connection on moisture sensor bars (i think you forget to put 2 wire connector put together). when you use other cycle dryer use moisture sensor to dry cloths so sensor not working dryer will stop in 5 minutes or so because dryer think there are no wet cloths to dry. hope this help you.
the thermocouple ot high heat limiter ====the thermocouple when going bad -or not properly on bracket will shut the gas valve off --same with high heat limiter ---before checking these parts feel the air coming out if feels restricted clean the vent tube under the lint trap filter can use a vacuum from front and rear exhaust tube
Clean the sensors with windex or like cleaner. Farbic soften can build up on the sensors and cause you trouble, Also, the time displayed is an estimate not actual drying time.
