Hi...

You can try to remove the dvd player and partially disassemble it to remove the stuck dvds. Would you like to try this?
ODYSSEY - DVD Player Unit Removal/Installation
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
If a disc is loaded remove it before continuing.
1.Remove the center lower cover.
2.Remove the screws and pull out the DVD player unit (A).
3.Remove the wire harness clip (B), then disconnect the 22P connector and digital audio 2P connector (C) from the DVD player unit.

Remove the four mounting screws, then remove the bracket.
Install in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the DVD player unit connectors are plugged in properly. Then test the DVD player unit operation.

Do I need software to play dvd movies on my 2006 honda odyssey it doesnt reconize dvd movies.

Pull out your manual and make sure that it can play all types of movies. I am guessing that you are putting in BluRay movies and it only accepts regular DVDs

Dvd player not working on 06 Honda Odyssey

The Honda dealer just wanted to replace my entertainment center without even troubleshooting and I wasn't convinced that it was "broken" so I found the FIXYA website and saw that others had the same problem and I followed their instructions and it now works fine. I am going to call the Honda dealer to complain because they should have known this.

We simply pulled the fuse out and put it back in and then reset the radio code!
