My Nissan Maxima's CD changer is now freezing or skipping within a track.
It occurs on all discs in the changer. I inserted a Maxell lens cleaner, but hasn't seemed to help.
My wife's 02 Maxima starting skipping about 5 days ago. I put in a Maxell CD lens cleaner and the skipping stopped. This morning (5 days later) it started skipping again. Does it have to be cleaned every week?My wife's 02 Maxima starting skipping about 5 days ago. I put in a Maxell CD lens cleaner and the skipping stopped. CD players do a little POST before they show you the disc contents. The disc first spins up then the laser head skips across to read the index with is generally on the inside track near the center. If the CD doesn't spin or the head doesn't move the CD player will auto-eject the CD. I'd have that player serviced or replaced.
It sounds like you have the cd on random or shuffle. Look to see if you have a button marked rdm or shuf or some variation of that. If so, try pressing that button to see if random/shuffle turns off.
Could be some dust or debris in the unit. Also be careful that you are not putting fingermarks near the hole section of each CD you put in, as the CD plays from the centre out.
hi
There is a diode in the power supply which gives dc supply to the laser focusing coil driver ic . if the diode get faulty this problem can occur. Just replace all the rectifier diodes in the power supply stage. Its better than searching for the exact one. then check the cd player is it skips the tracks. if then also its skips the tracks then you have to change the laser pickup unit.
ok
It is clear symptoms of bad optical laser or dirty optical lens. Please put lens cleaning CD in player, play that CD to clean dust on optical lens surface. If that helps, fine or replace optical laser block in player. I can provide you optical lens part number, please confirm is it Sony CDP-CX153 cd player or any other model. Thanks.
the problem is not the laser, but the cable that connects the laser to cd board, it is cracked..and will break connection when moved out from its home position, i have replaced a lot of cabes for this model..i know it well
Hi, this is a common issue within car CD changers. the load motor go through lots of trauma during the life span that i usually 3 to 5 years. the load motor operates everything in the changer. it works the load tray and spinning of the disc as well. when this motor is out, the changer will be rendered useless. replacing the load motor will fix thisissue or, you can just purchase a new changer and save a lot of money.
