I have an LG DLW1101W dryer. It will not turn off unless you open the door or unplug the unit. It is running through the drying cycles fine and the close come out dry. It just will not shut off.

Mine did the same thing. Door switch was fine. There is a non-replaceable relay on the PCB that got stuck. Luckily a tap on the relay freed it, but it will probably happen again. May have to replace the PCB next time.

Just had the same problem. Black relay (Black wire and blue wire) tapped it and got it working correctly. I'm guessing it's pretty common.

My b issue is the door trigger. Before you go to crazy, keep the door open and press the ltrigger latch for the door. If you're lucky it will stop the cycle.

SOURCE: during the drying cycle, the dryer door opens

Chances are the little plastic latch keep is broken. Look at the door and locate a peice that will press into the front area where the clothes go in.
Once you see it, check the keeper and see if it is broken. The door should not just pop open.

SOURCE: My GE Dryer model DWSR483EA1ww will not stop & doesn't dry quick

first thing you should do is check the flow of your vent, a clogged vent can cause all your problems check it outside while the unit is running you should get really good flow compare it to the flow of the dryer with the vent hose off the dryer completly. they should be fairly close or just run it with out the vent hooked up to the vent if you have an electric but not with a gas dryer

SOURCE: During a drying cycle, the

This was a concern on some whirlpool and kenmore dryers. The fix was to replace both of the catches (the part on the dryer front panel ) and the latches (the part on the door) as well as a redesigned door gasket. Im sure if you contact Whirlpool customer assistance they would be able to supply you with a part number for the repair kit....

Kenmore dryer 70 Series doesn't shut off, timer continues to run

there are 2 different kinds of units made back then.
one has a push to start button that could have a stuck contact causing the unit to think you are pushing the button and want it to run again.
the other could have a stuck motor switch and thats not available separately. you would have to replace the motor. try to clean any lint out of the motor if you have that type. use compressed air to blow the lint out of the motor. it usually works to get the lint out and it can cause the switch to stick.
