SOURCE: Altec Lansing ada745 fuse

Yes, it's a 1A 250V glass fuse, 0.75" (1.9cm) long. The only other number on the fuse is "239", if that means anything. You take it out by putting a flat screwdriver in the slot on the fuse holder cap, turn counter-clockwise, and pull out once it releases.

SOURCE: What's the volt & amps of Altec Lansing AVS300 2.1 speaker system

Your adapter is Part No. AVX300-A6859, Model No. 9701-00748-IUND.
Or You could get a universal that is rated for output of 18volt DC, 650ma, Center Positive.
I have used a 15volt DC, 900 ma with no problem, but I never run the volume high.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I have Altec Lansing AVS 300 multimedia speakers with no power

Unfortunately the subwoofer supplies the power to the amp on the speakers, Once again I have the solution,
These speakers are factory molded so that the only way to open them is to break the factory seal
this can be done by sharply rapping the seam at the bottom of the speaker with a heavy screwdriver handle or something similar.
Now you need to supply power to the amp...If you do not have the subwoofer you will need a 4.5volt power supply, after removing the board from the casing find the red white and black wires connecting
the orange plug wire to it, Personally I removed the entire cord from the unit, shough you can splice in at this point if you desire.
Connect the white lead to your posative on your power supply by either splicing or soldering, connect the ground to the heat sink using the screw that is already there holding the chip to the sink. reassemble the speaker.....super glue... and you are now in business.

SOURCE: how do I use altec lansing acs40 with a laptop?

Fairly easy really. You'll need to buy a jack to jack AUX cable. Single point for stereo needed and a headphone jack on the laptop.
The left hand and right hand speakers are slightly different. The right hand speaker only has a cord coming out the back of it and no AUX points.
The right hand speakers has a series of small jack points.
The first hole is the adaptor plug that has to be plugged into mains socket, then the 1st hole marked SPKR has to have a jack to jack cord going from that speaker to the other one. The last two holes marked "A" and "B" give you the option to put two jack to jack AUX sound cables in.
To get it into your laptop, you'll need ONE AUX jack to jack cable and fit it into the point at the back marked "B" and then through the headphone socket on your laptop. You will then have sound.
Make sure to remember to put the system on by the push button switch on the back of the left hand speaker. The speaker system also has another rotary switch on at the front of the speaker.
I've had these speakers for well over 10 years - brilliant sound quality and very durable. Hope it has helped you!

I do not have power supply cord for Altec Lansing computer speaker system with sub woofer for model AVS300. it has a plug port of DC 18V 650 mA. Can I use a AC current power supply?

Hi Dan Bushey, I'm glad you found a solution, what does not close me is that Altec Lansing, which needs a DC 18volts and 650mA power supply, works with a source that delivers 9 volts and 19KW (???)
Maybe it will be 19 volts and 1.9 Amp?
Comment please

How can my laptop charger fit to computer speaker?

Please do not modify your laptop charger to power your speakers. The laptop charger probably has too high a voltage and amperage output. (USB chargers don't provide a large enough output.) The Altec Lansing ACS40 speakers need a 15V 900 mA power transformer; the coaxial power connector has the positive voltage on the center pin. The model number on the transformer is 4815090R3CT . This is available through Amazon.com and other vendors. One vendor is http://www.emtcompany.com/altec-lansing-4815090r3cac-power-supply-charger-adapter/1010666.html .

I hope this helps.

No sound out of my Altec Lansing ADA 745. Computer Sound card is fine.

If other speakers are working, then 745 is defective or the volume switch is set to mute. Please check that, repair it if required.

I plugged my 110 volts Altec Lansing speakers into 220 volts :( How can I fix it? Please help me. Thank You.

Check fuse, but if there wasn't a fuse , your Altec need repaired to fix broken components in power circuits, could be the resistors, diodes or even transformer.
