Contact Paloma/Rheem 866-720-2076. Super nice! I just called regarding mine. Having same problem Rheem Paloma sending parts out tomorrow overnite. Try turn it on/ off by moving tiny switch under the unit that tells you the temperature. Run your fingers along the bottom to find it. That is a temporary fix. Although i have some reservation,i`ll assume your car does`nt have the parking brake wire so here`s the answer to your question;
You do not need to connect that wire but you need to bypass the parking brake function in the menu.
Here`s the parking brake bypass procedure:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6: Warning; use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

Your car should have some type of aftermarket immobilizer bypass connected to the alarm/carstart. It seems like it will have to be reprogrammed. Try this, put a key in the ignition switch but do not turn it to any position then remote start the car using your alarm. Did the car start and stay running? If so then the bypass module has to be reprogrammed. If not then I would be careful as to how many times you remote start the car to figure this problem out. your car CAN "loose" all the codes to the keys and or the bcm. The only way to fix that is to take it to the dealer. TRUST ME I'M GOING THROUGH THAT MYSELF ! If you are not a professional car alarm installer then take it to one, let them have the headache.

Check the (ground when running) wire on the bypass modual it is probibly shorted to ground, therefore giving your car 2 transponder codes when you try to start with the key vs 1 when you use the remote start

turn on the player, start the radio option, go into the setup menu, tap the language tab, ON THE REMOTE press "stop, stop, 5,4,3,2,1" This will bring up the secret menu, you do not need to connect the pink wire

Need to know and bypass codes for the jensen 9311 but dont have the remote...

The solution that was givin for vm9412.
going to SET UP
Then Language.
Then on your remote push 543210.
Press the Hammer & Screwdriver symbol.
Click on praking brake overide and turn it on.
Then hit the X at the bottom of the screen.
And say good bye to the pink wire bs & ground.

This solution was awsome it only took one try very easy!
