check and clean chimney and piping getting a poor draft ---creosote and ash as well as critters can cause such problems creosote build up can cause chimney fires
You need Gasketing Sealant and Stove Sealer which is a Red Devil product. Good for 2,000 degrees. Don't buy the cheap stuff, read the lable, as some is only good to 550 degrees and will deteriorate rapidly and fall out.
There can be several reasons. It would help me to know what make and model, but heres a start.....1} Make sure your using the correct fuse.2} Look for any debris or items which have entered the unit that could be shorting out the circuit. Also look for loose connections or wire spades that have come loose and shorted 3} Next see if the combustion and convection blower is turning freely. They should spin with ease. If in doubt, make a test cord from an old extension cord and try the blower directly by DISCONECTING it from the stove wiring and hooking the test cord to it then plug into a power strip carefully.4} Check the auger... Can you wiggle it around with your hand? If so then use the test cord in the same fashion as the blower. Augers tend to jam up and that can blow the fuse depending on the make of stove. 5} Look at the igniter and wire to assure that it is in visibly good condition. These are some good places to start. If none of these are help, it may be worth while to call a repair tech or manufacture help line. Be prepared for a long hold if you call during peak winter season. Good luck.
Drolets are a real pain at times. Don't buy their pellet stove. Check your stove pipe to insure its clean and not blocked. This includes spark arrestor. Is you stove cap 2' higher than anything 10' away from pipe? Refer to install manual. If you are not getting an y back draft issues with smoke inside house you may need to add on a section of trip wall pipe at the top.
I would suggest going to this website http://www.drolet.ca/en/installer-locator and you can find someone from Drolet who is authorized to diagnose your issue. If you can't find someone close by on the Drolet website then look for chimney sweeps through Angie's List preferably and they can help diagnose and determine the problem. First stop always default to an AUTHORIZED SERVICING DROLET service techinichian. Especially with pellet stoves, depending on the technology, these can be extremely technical with the exhaust and combustion blowers being off balance and causing the stove to shake. Without someone there to look at it and diagnose it hands on it is equivalent to when your car has a check engine light and you don't take it to a mechanic. Pellet stoves can be extremely tricky to work on. Good luck and try the manufacturer first. Find an installer near you Drolet
Do you know where I can get a replacement knob that goes on the back for low, medium and high setting? It came off when I was moving and is difficult to turn without it (i use a screwdriver at the moment).
