Ipod will not advance to next song. It just keeps playing the same song over and over.

Everything else seems to work okay on the ipod.

Deleted some files and now unable to play songs

simply you need to delete everything on the ipod and then uninstall it and then reinstall it. this will replace those folders, that yes, you did stupidly remove, and it should be no more than a ten minute task even with replacing the data.

My 120 GB I pod classic Doesn't play the next song

Hi. Check that when you plug your iPod in that it isn't selected to "Shuffle," play which can happen if you are expecting to go through songs. There is also another reason and one I didnt know about until I took my iPod Classic back to my retailer thinking there was a problem;
If the songs on your iTunes or default device isn't an AAC file the iPod will fail to play it. On MAC systems simply click the file that you want to put onto your iPod, right click and scroll to "Get Info." If the file doesn't say it is an AAC file it won't play on your iPod. Scroll further down on the list to "Create AAC version." This takes milliseconds, doesn't affect the sound quality but condenses the data fit for the iPod Classic. Once that's done you can add any song you like.
Generally when you put a CD into a MAC it will automatically change the AIFF files into AAC which means you don't need to manually convert. AAC is usually needed when individual tracks are called up and put onto your iPod. I hope this helps you - it drove me nuts until I found out about the AAC.

Won't play

Check that the songs you are uploading to the iPod have been converted to AAC if you are using a MAC to put the music on. Otherwise it won't play standard files.

Turn repeat off in the menu.
Setting iPod nano to Repeat Songs
You can set iPod nano to repeat a song over and over, or to repeat a sequence of
songs. iPod nano repeats songs within the list you choose to play.
To set iPod nano to repeat songs:
m Choose Settings from the iPod nano main menu.
â To repeat all songs in the list, set Repeat to All.
â To repeat one song over and over, set Repeat to One.
To turn repat off, go to Repeat off.

IPod Nano 2gb

I think you have your settings to repeat the same song over and over again.

To check and change it, go to the Main Menu, select Settings>Repeat. If that says "One" keep hitting the center button (the select button) until it says "Off".

Hope this helps! Good luck.

Music will not play, just cycles through songs without playing

I just had the same problem with my 2GB silver nano. I had to restore the factory settings through iTunes and reload all of my music. There was also an update for the nano that I downloaded yesterday (Jan. 29, 2006) and installed when I restored the factory settings. My nano appears to be running fine for the moment, but we'll see if this actually took care of the problem.
