In my 2010 ecotech GM engine, they had a problem with early oil consumption. They now recommend only semi synthetic because the rings wear less. Full synthetic is also good but more expensive.
The brand of oil does not matter.
Fully synthetic is the best oil available.
0-30w gives superb cold start-up starting protection
5-35/40W is as good but not as effective for winter conditions when the oil in your sump is 'thicker' and needs to be pumped around the engine until it warms.
The same viscosity oils are available as semi synthetic.
The only difference between fully synthetic and semi-synthetic is that fully synthetic doesn't break down or degrade as quickly. It gives better protection.
Mineral Oils are available in the same viscosity. They're the cheapest option.
They're as good as semi synthetic or fully synthetic for a shorter period before it needs changing.
If your car engine is good and doesn't burn oil - go for the synthetic oil. You get what you pay for.
Try 5w30 it will work ok! The brand is your choice. God-Bless!
