Use the restore disks that came with your computer. If you upgraded to 10 and it went bad, you are screwed since the damage has already been done and there is no going back.
And if you do not have the restore disks you can always go the manufacturer's support on web and order the disks. OR, just install the OS from scratch without any of the software you had initially.

Hello !
There are other options, such as choosing System Restore via Programs - Accessories - System Tools .. which would take your laptop to an earlier date, which could resolve problems.
But, if you want to know how a Factory Restore is done for your system (it's a long process), here it is:
1. Upon boot, select F8 until the menu
"Advanced Boot
Options" appears.
2. Choose "Repair your Computer" (use Up/Down keys if necessary to find) and hit Enter.
3. Once Windows has loaded a few files, "System Recovery Options" will
appear.
4. Under "Select a language" and "Select a keyboard layout:" specify the
language and keyboard layout. As a rule, the language will be automatically
recognized by
the system and is marked in grey.
5.Click on "Next".
6. Under
"User name:" enter the user name and the "Password". The user name will also
be available in the selection menu and can be called up by clicking on
the
black triangle. If you have not assigned a password for the user
selected, leave the "Password" field empty. Then click on "OK".
7. In the
following "System Recovery Options" menu, select the option "Fujitsu Siemens
Computers Recovery" with the sub-item "Easy backup and recovery
of your
system".
8. In the next menu, select "Restore the as-delivered status" and
click on "Next".
9. In the menu "Restore factory default settings", choose
the option "From hard disk (recommended)" from "Select source" and confirm
with "Next".
10. The next message informs you that all data could be lost.
Once you have confirmed this message, your system is restored.
On
completion of the restoration process, a confirmation message will
be displayed.
11. Select "Exit" to close the process.
12. In the
following "System Recovery Options" menu, select "Restart".
13. After the
restart, you must make some adjustments. To do this, follow the
onscreen instructions.
Good luck.

Follow these instructions carefully:
To start the recovery process:
1. Restart the system.
2. While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3. Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.
I copied the above from an Acer manual, and it works on my own system, which is not the same model as yours. But you must understand that this will basically restore your computer to the condition in which it was when you bought it, unpacked it from the box, and followed the instructions to set up a new computer.
This will give you your system back as if it were brandy new, but in most cases, anything you created, like DOCs, or XLS files, again … ANYthing you created since buying this computer, will also probably not be there any more.
You will have a pristine, clean as new, computer system.
Be careful, be absolutely sure this is what you want to do, and go ahead and do it.

Unlike
other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility
called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data,
create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset
Acer laptop to factory setting.
Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.
Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.
Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.
Step 4: Again click 'Next' to
reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard
disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.
Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.
Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.
