The XLR930 shaver came in two versions over the years with different battery configurations. You will find both types of batteries at shaveroutlet.com. See links below. You will just need to match the correct type to yours
An easier thing to do would be to purchase a factory refurbished MS-5200 from shaveroutlet.com. See link below. It is the same shaver as the MS-5500 but does not come with the clean/charge base.
Your shaver model is not designed to replace the batteries. To open it, you have to remove the side grips on oscillator housing which are glued on. Disassembling it will cause it to be all marred up.

Most MS3 series models were not designed for battery change. The shaver body is glued together and it is extremely difficult to take apart without marring it all up.

Remove the foil assembly and cutters. You will find 2 screws on the back near the top. Remove screws and you can then pry the front half of case off. You will then be able to access the batteries. There are two batteries connected end to end. You will find replacements at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. You will need to order 2 batteries
When batteries go completely bad, the shaver will stop working altogether. Most likely, you will just need to change the batteries. But you should open the shaver and inspect it first to make sure there is not a lot of corrosion or any burnt spots on the circuit board.

Most likely, the rechargeable batteries need replaced. This model does not run directly from the cord. You can change them yourself if you can do some light soldering. To replace them, you will need to remove screws on the back to take off the back cover. You can then remove the old batteries.
