I don't think anyone will redeem a small win like that via mail. I would send it back to your son, along with your bank details and get him to redeem it for you. Then get him to transfer the money directly to your account.
YOu need to contact the Fairbank and verify it from them if they receive the money transfer or not, If they receieve it you can ask them to return it back to your paypal account....

Could be I'm a techno dinosaur, but I would not put my personal credit card info into anything that I did not fully understand.
I occasionally transfer money to my children and here's how I do it.
-They have a bank account. They get a card for me for DEPOSIT ONLY.
- When I want to send them $ I go to a branch of their bank and make a deposit.
- If you speak with someone in your bank you will probably be able to do it all on line.
