I replaced the CD player CDM-4 and it will play some CD but then there are some that when the gripper arm puts onto the player. The player spins but it spins so fast that the CD starts to bounce till it falls off the cone. The when the gripper arm comes to pick it up its jammed because it flew off the player. Like I said it plays some CD fine no issues and these are all store bought CD being played. Not sure if the center cone is the issue. or the pressure disk or if it is the player itself.
The center cone on the hub could be a problem if the player was not for the right juke. Each brand has their own style. (If you still have the old player, check and make sure the the hubs are the same.) The center cone on the hubs are glued in place so if they are different you might be able to pop the old one off and replace it to the new player. One other problem could also be the magnetic pressure disk that is supposed to hold the disk on the hub. Is it centered in the hold down arm or does it rub the sides? Does the disk wobble as it spins? The magnetic disk is supposed to hold it down on the hub to prevent it from wobbling and coming off the turntable.

I asked a Wurlitzer engineer about this problem and he simply said, "Bend it a bit."
Sounds horrible but there is no genuine adjustment. But before doing that, try moving the carousel lock latch (at the 5 oclock position). This is what locks the carousel and determines its position when the correct CD number is reached. If you could ****** or advance it a little it might work.

SOURCE: Hello,
The carousel is locked in position by the latch at the front (about 6 oclock). If the gripper isn't exactly in line with the cd then you need to adjust the latch a bit.
