CD player plays some CD but some of the others it spins them and tosses them off the cone

I replaced the CD player CDM-4 and it will play some CD but then there are some that when the gripper arm puts onto the player. The player spins but it spins so fast that the CD starts to bounce till it falls off the cone. The when the gripper arm comes to pick it up its jammed because it flew off the player. Like I said it plays some CD fine no issues and these are all store bought CD being played. Not sure if the center cone is the issue. or the pressure disk or if it is the player itself.

The center cone on the hub could be a problem if the player was not for the right juke. Each brand has their own style. (If you still have the old player, check and make sure the the hubs are the same.) The center cone on the hubs are glued in place so if they are different you might be able to pop the old one off and replace it to the new player. One other problem could also be the magnetic pressure disk that is supposed to hold the disk on the hub. Is it centered in the hold down arm or does it rub the sides? Does the disk wobble as it spins? The magnetic disk is supposed to hold it down on the hub to prevent it from wobbling and coming off the turntable.

SOURCE: Wurlitzer 1015 OMT 100CD

I asked a Wurlitzer engineer about this problem and he simply said, "Bend it a bit."

Sounds horrible but there is no genuine adjustment. But before doing that, try moving the carousel lock latch (at the 5 oclock position). This is what locks the carousel and determines its position when the correct CD number is reached. If you could ****** or advance it a little it might work.

SOURCE: Hello,

The carousel is locked in position by the latch at the front (about 6 oclock). If the gripper isn't exactly in line with the cd then you need to adjust the latch a bit.

Alpine CDM 7874 won't play rest of CD after track 1.

It could be a bad burn or an issue with the receiver. Try re-burning the CD and see if that helps.

My gemini cdm-500 comes up with a error wen trying to play a cd on one side

HI. i would try cleaning the lens with cleaning disc. if this doesn't produce results, the issue will then be a damaged optical lens assembly. you will need to replace this assembly in this case.

Cdm 500 not reading disk 1

First, try the disc that plays OK in deck 2 in deck 1. This will eliminate the disc as the problem. If the disc won't play in deck 1, then the laser pick-up is on it's way out. There is no easy fix for this, it will require the attention of an engineer.
