American Range part number A80201. It's an NFS approved stainless ball valve, generally 1.25". If you Google American Range A80201 you can find it on line for less than $70. You must use an NSF approved valve to comply with health codes.

SOURCE: American Range Fryer LP 35/50 Pilot

Try to disassemble the pilot assembly and check the pilot orifice, it may be clogged tha's why there is no gas exiting from it.

Fryer doesn't turn off the flames

The thermostat has failed. You can't say 'it looks fine' when you can't see inside. Because it is gas fired, you need a certified commercial gas technician to repair and check it for safety.

How do I troubleshoot my fryer when I cannot get it to start?

In order to turn the knob to the pilot position you need to push the knob in slightly and then turn. Once the pilot position on the knob is lined up with the indicator on the valve, you can push it in and gas will flow to the pilot assembly.

Help flames front of fryer

Hi there.
Try to check and clean if needed the fire tubes, soot may have build up inside blocking the flame path. Soot build up on fire tubes and burners are caused primarily by low gas pressure, assuming that the orifice size are correct with respect to the type of gas used.

What is the standard way to empty the oil from the fryer

You should have a screw on drain valve that screws into the opening under the fryer, inside the door.. Once you have the drain valve screwed on, then open the valve and it will drain into whatever you set in front of it... If you need to order a drain valve, they are not expensive... I can get you a price if you need one... Susan @ Restaurant Equipment Outlet, Cinc, OH [email protected] or call me at 888-542-5959... I will need model number also.

I have a older 40,000 BTU 3 burner natural gas deep fryer. I would like to convert to propane gas. The orifice number is size 32. Do I need to get different orifices to convert? The serial number is...

Hi there.

Burner orifice size for propane gas is number 55. You have to replace all burner orifice with this size if you want to use the fryer with propane gas. Pilot burner orifice should be replaced with propane pilot orifice. The gas valve spring should also be replaced with propane spring kit. The difference between the two spring is the natural gas spring is lighter or thinner compare with the propane gas valve spring.

Trying to light the pilot light on deep fryer when i push button in it lights but when i let go of button pilot light goes out what am i doing wrong

If the pilot flame does not hold after releasing the button for at least 20 to 30 seconds, try to clean the thermopile and tighten all wiring connection on gas valve, thermostat and hi limit the repeat the process. The thermopile must be heated by pilot flame in order for it to generate small amount of voltage to open the pilot valve.
If this does not correct the problem, try replacing the thermopile.

Drain valve leaking,do i need to replace if so getting the right valve.steve

It depends on where it is leaking. If the oil is coming out around the threads where the valve screws onto the fryer, you can remove it and put teflon tape on the threads on the fryer and then put the valve back on tightly. If it is dripping through the valve when it is closed, you need to replace the valve. The only thing you need to match up is that it has the same threads and that it is a high temperature valve. Most Pitco fryers use inch and a half pipe threads. Pipe threads are weird, inch and a half pipe actually measures 1.9 inches outside to outside of the threads. The temperature range is up to 500 degrees F. Check with your nearest restaurant supply company. They can order you a new valve if that is what you need.
