You may accidentally have turned NumLk on which causes the keys on the right part of the keyboard to act as a keypad for entering numbers. A little padlock with the number 1 in its middle is the indicator for NumLk and it will be lit or a LED bar underneath it will be lit when NumLk is on. On the Acer Aspire One 8.9" screen model ZG5, the NumLk is toggled on/off by holding down Fn and pressing the F11 key. Also, when NumLk is on, pressing U I O gets 4 5 6 and J K L M gets 1 2 3 0. The reason for embedding the numeric keypad within the usual character keys eliminates having a separate set of keys for the keypad function resulting in a more compact keyboard that better fits with notebook computers such as the netbooks which have smaller screen sizes.
Try another Wall Power Supply. To test. Take Out battery, Plug In wall supply to Wall & PC, without battery does it work OK? IF YES, replace battery still OK? Laptop Should work on Wall ONLY, if not, replace wall unit.
Ebay is full of them, just watch the location and skip the ones made and shipped from Hong Kong, Good ones and one that will last do not cost 18 bucks, search for original Acer chargers and spend the extra funds.
The Aspire One systems labeled with the modelZG5 are actually an Aspire One AOA110 or an Aspire One AOA150. Any information will be listed under AOA110 and AOA150, rather than ZG5.
The supportmodel number is located on the bottom of the netbook on a white label above the serial number. Alternatively, the support modelnumber will be located in the BIOS which can be entered by pressing the F2 key when turning the netbook on. Once in the BIOS it will be under the Information tab to the right of Product Name
