Apples and oranges.
The 115 volts tells what "quantity" of electricity is needed to run the unit.
BTU's are the cooling capacity of the unit, which usually is about 5,000 for the smallest, up to about 18,000 for the largest.
Over 18,000 the electricity quantity is often boosted to 220 volts because of the larger size of the unit.

What is the minimum voltage required for this AC

According to the Owner"s Manual, if the serial data plate says 115 volts and the amperage is greater than 7.5 amps it must have it's on fuse or circuit breaker and no other electrical appliances should be run on that circuit. For models rated at 230 volts, the same holds true.

So, the the determination of minimum voltage is based on what the serial data plate shows.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Circuit breaker

Happy to assist,

HOW MANY BTU IS THE AIR CONDITIONER?
And is it 110 or 220 line!

If it is using 110 or 115 volts like normal house current and it throws circuit breakers in your electric box, then you need to run a dedicated line just for the Air Conditioner!
Usually this happens to 110 -115 volt air-conditioners that are more than 12,000 BTU and do not have a dedicated electric line in the wall only for the air conditioner!

New air conditioners have a circuit breaker built into the units plug!
And I have seen some that throw that breaker to off frequently even if it's only an electric surge! Which it should not do!
if its the case and it's new, take it back to the store and ask for a different model, size, or brand!
Fedders had an 18,000 BTU/ 110-115 volt unit that did this with every single unit last year! I stopped selling that unit only!!

Need a replacement thru the wall ac unit for model ajch10acm1, 115 v, 15 amp 9600 btu.

Measure the cabinet dimensions. then best place to check for replacement is Home Depot ,Lowe's, sometimes Sams Club, B.J.'s or Cosco these places buy in large volume and are hard to beat when it comes to price. The 115 volt units go up to 12,000 BTU. which is one ton. If you hit at the right time of year I,ve seen a/c units around 6,000 btu sold for as low as $69.00.
Shop around most all brands are about the same. Cost is based on the number of bells and whistles you want. The most simple units cost the least also the less that can go wrong. I have found it really hard to find exact demention replacements.
