Reset schaerer siena - Schaerer Siena Espresso Machine

Remove the coffee grounds container & leave it out.
Press & hold the cleaning button for approx 5 seconds, you will then see the words " Caution Hot"
Then push the cleaning button once (the one with the plus sign on it) This will start the descaling....I have a Siena-2 & I too could not figure out how to descale, I sent an email to schaerer who sent me an pdf with these instructions which are close to what I was doing. They said it sounds lie I had an older model version - They were very helpful.

With the machine off remove the grounds bin ( leave it out ) the press & hold the cleaning button until the de-scale symbol flashes

The sensor of temperature of a boiler of steam is faulty.

Replace fuse

This indicates a fault with the temperature sensor on one of the boilers. Generally it should display NTC Steam or NTC hot water so this will indicate which boiler is faulty. 95% of the time, the complete boiler needs to be replaced as the temp sensor is built into it and cannot be replaced alone. Adds to the expense unfortunately.
