This program is made to run in XP. My old pc had it in it and it worked good. When my old pc crashed i decided to install the program in my other pc which runs XP. I can't get it to download into the pc. I've tested my dvd player and it says it's working fine.
You can only install it on a PC if you have the original installation disc. You can't transfer it from one PC to another.
If you are using the installation disc and it's not reading the disc, then perhaps the disc is corrupted or damaged. You can't really check if it's corrupted, but a physical look at the underside of the disc might show marks or scratches. Sometimes even a fingerprint will cause the disc not to work. They sometimes will clean up though.
If the disc is faulty you might get a cheap new one from places such as Amazon or E-Bay. As it's XP the demand will be less, so it might be cheap.

You have to purchase a new one from Magix. The cd is critical for the whole program to work properly. Sometimes is has to be in the CD player to get certain features to work properly.

I think the problem is..... Magix is compatible with XP 64 bit but not with Vista or 7 64 bit, not much 3rd party software is.
SOURCE: Is there a driver I can download to run Magix
nope sorry you will have to buy the new version 16
SOURCE: I have tried to install
you would have to download a version that is compatible with windows 7. using a patch for studio software makes it glitch and crash.
