Radio Resets when I PTT
1) You were right to change to new batteries. Yet, the problem you describe is the same problem that would present itself if you had bad or poorly charged batteries. Check your contacts where the batteries touch inside the radio for damage or film/debris. Clean with a pencil eraser.
2) Is it possibly you have changed a setting, or have your radios programmed to a repeater (duplex only) frequency? Reprogram (if possible) your radios to a very basic setting with the code set to zero (off), and all special features turned off. Then using a basic radio-to-radio frequency test the radios again
3) If reprogramming is not possible due to the radio shutting itself down, then you have a battery or charging problem. Be certain the radio is turned off when on the charger and the battery is clean and inserted the right direction. Try charging both radios overnight. Observe your charger, does it seem like it is operating properly?
Basically, problems are either the radio, the battery, or the charger. By process of elimination you should be able to determine which one is the culprit.
Best regards.
