The best advice I have to offer for the Vizio VBR120 is to replace it with a better player from LG, Sony or Samsung. I replaced mine with a LG BR540 and haven't looked back. With Vizio you get what you pay for, junk. There is no update for a Vizio VBR120.

Many have a default code like all 9's but you may have to call the maker if not in the owner manual.

No very likely as the remote has less than 60 possible infrared codes and likely does not have that one.
